Elena Grecu recognized for Employment Law work

Attorney Elena Grecu, Founder and Managing Partner of Grecu Partners, received the “LADY LAWYER 2026 Award of Excellence” for her activity in Employment Law. The distinction was awarded on June 10, 2026, during the 11th edition of the LADY LAWYER Gala, held at Pullman Hotels Bucharest World Trade Center.

The event was organized by Universul Juridic Editorial Group and Legal Magazin. It brought together members of the Romanian legal community for the annual awards ceremony and the launch of a new edition of LADY LAWYER magazine.

Attorney Elena Grecu dedicated the award to the entire Grecu Partners team. The distinction reflects the discipline, consistency and collaborative work behind the firm’s employment law practice.

The Lady Lawyer Gala 2026 in Bucharest

The LADY LAWYER Gala is dedicated to women active in the legal field. The magazine associated with the project highlights female professionals working as attorneys, notaries, judicial officers, insolvency practitioners, mediators and in-house counsel.

For a business law firm, this type of recognition has professional value when it reflects work connected to the daily needs of companies. Employment Law is one of the areas where legal advice stays close to management decisions, HR strategy and operational risk.

Employment matters reach the boardroom when a company hires, restructures, investigates internal conduct, reviews performance or manages sensitive departures. These decisions require legal precision before a conflict appears.

Why Employment Law matters for companies

Grecu Partners includes Employment Law among its business law practice areas, alongside commercial law, litigation, GDPR, e-commerce, competition and M&A. Attorney Elena Grecu’s professional profile also reflects experience across Commercial Law, Employment Law, Intellectual Property, Advertising Law and GDPR.

This combination matters for companies because a workplace issue rarely remains isolated inside one employment contract. A disciplinary investigation can involve internal procedure, evidence, personal data, confidentiality clauses and reputational exposure. A restructuring project can affect financial planning, internal communication and future litigation risk.

Companies need employment law advice that understands how the business operates. A legal document has limited value if it does not match the company’s structure, reporting lines, performance criteria or current work model.

Documents that decide HR disputes

Romanian employment law allows employers to organize work, establish duties, set objectives and apply disciplinary measures where the legal conditions are met. The same legal framework requires employers to inform employees correctly, document decisions and observe procedural safeguards.

Article 17 of the Labor Code requires the employer to inform the employee about the main elements of the employment relationship. These include the role, duties, working time, salary, benefits and evaluation criteria.

Article 251 of the Labor Code requires a prior disciplinary investigation before most disciplinary sanctions. The employee must be summoned in writing and must have the opportunity to present a defense. Article 252 regulates the written disciplinary decision and the applicable deadlines.

Many employment disputes start with documents that no longer reflect how the company works. An outdated job description, an internal regulation copied from an older structure or a disciplinary decision drafted too quickly can weaken the employer’s position.

Teamwork behind the Employment Law recognition

The recognition received by Attorney Elena Grecu at the LADY LAWYER 2026 Gala confirms a professional approach built on rigor, teamwork and attention to the business context.

Employment law work depends on careful drafting, procedural discipline and the ability to anticipate how a decision will be read later, in negotiation, inspection or court. For companies, this area should not be treated only as a reaction to conflict. It is part of responsible business management.

For Grecu Partners, the distinction also marks the contribution of the team behind the practice. Legal work in employment matters requires consistency across documents, advice and representation.

The question for companies remains direct: are the HR documents used every day aligned with the way the business operates today? If the answer is uncertain, the next step should be a review of employment contracts, job descriptions, internal regulations and disciplinary procedures.
